Swedish & Deep Tissue Massage

Swedish massage is what comes to mind when most people think about massage. It's purpose is to relax the entire body, but it also has a number of other health benefits. Swedish massage therapy improves blood circulation, promotes tissue healing, helps the body removes toxins, improves flexibility, eases tension and helps with pain management.

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage therapy melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness and increases circulation and metabolism. Each hot stone massage session promotes deeper muscle relaxation through the placement of smooth, water-heated stones at key points on the body.

The premise behind hot stone massage therapy is that the direct heat of the stones relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist access to deeper muscle layers. Combining hot stone with a full body massage provides a healing and effective experience. The hot stones have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation.

Massage Add-ons

Warm Bamboo massage is a technique that involves using specially designed bamboo sticks as tools to deliver a deep yet relaxing massage. These sticks allow the massage therapist to apply deeper pressure to release muscle tension while also promoting a sense of relaxation and well-being.

Cupping therapy can be added to any massage treatment and involves using suction with silicone or glass cups and gliding these cups across the body. With this method, the skin, tissue, and muscles are pulled upwards to create negative pressure that increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This can relieve muscle tension and improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It can also be used for cellulite reduction.

IASTM  is a technique that uses specific instruments on restricted soft tissue by introducing controlled micro-trauma to the affected tissue. This micro-trauma initiates re-absorption of inappropriate or excessive scar tissue and facilitates a remodeling of the affected soft-tissue structures. Studies have shown clinical benefits of IASTM with improvements in range of motion, strength and pain perception following treatment.

Kinesiology Taping is a rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process. It provides support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. Taping extends soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy.
